FINAL SERENITY
Cypress on cherry
59 x 11 x 11"
$3,000

I was thinking about death tributes, in particular British and Egyptian sarcophagus carvings. I stood mine upright. The wood itself has nails and nail holes from its former life. Larger  Back view (large)

NIGHT BLOOM
Black walnut on maple
68 x 14 x 13"
$3,000

The image is from a curvaceous, night-blooming cactus in my yard -- a natural sculpture. Larger view Even larger Back view

BEACH TOTEM I
Caribbean mahogany
52 x 9 x 9"
$2,500

I did this first beach totem in 1986. The totems are tall and totemic, but taken from shell pieces that I find on the beach and blow up in size ... perfect for a nice log of wood to morph into a beautiful, almost abstract figure. Larger view

CHERRY TOTEM
Cherry
50 x 6 x 6"
$1,500

In the beach totem tradition, I tried to go an abstract step further. I didn't have a shell piece to copy from, but shell interiors in general using their angularity and twisted curves. Larger view

FAMILY TREE
Camphor on maple
21 x 28 x 10"
$3,000

Thinking of my brothers and sisters, I tried to produce my feelings in an abstract manner. My husband Dave named the piece. Larger view

...AND OUR MOTHERS BEFORE US
Chestnut on black walnut
66 x 11 x 11"
$4,000

Made from a 100-year-old chestnut beam from a friend's barn in Tennessee. A tribute to our women ancestors, showing that the youngest of us stands on the shoulders of our elders. Closeup
